Responsibilities: Director of Clinical Education:
  • Foster seamless communication among academic faculty, students, and clinical faculty regarding the clinical education program.
  • Orchestrate and oversee student placements in clinical settings, ensuring strict compliance with standards and providing essential support to both students and clinical sites.
  • Monitor student progress diligently, offering guidance to students and clinical faculty, and implement remediation plans as needed to ensure optimal learning outcomes.
  • Leverage feedback to continuously enhance the clinical education program and maintain unwavering adherence to accreditation standards.
  • Proactively develop new clinical sites and cultivate strong relationships with clinical faculty to expand opportunities for our students.
Teaching:
  • Deliver engaging instruction in relevant subjects, emphasizing interprofessional collaboration and professional development to prepare students for success in their future careers.
  • Demonstrate mastery of effective course preparation, delivery, and assessment methods to create a dynamic and enriching learning environment.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to refine teaching practices and stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field.
  • Provide unwavering support to students and offer assistance whenever needed to ensure their academic success.
Scholarship/Practice:
  • Conduct scholarly and clinical work that contributes meaningfully to your field of expertise, advancing knowledge and best practices within the profession.
  • Remain at the forefront of industry advancements through continuous learning and professional engagement.
Service:
  • Actively participate in University events and faculty meetings as required to contribute to the vibrant academic community.
  • Support student recruitment, admission, and retention efforts to ensure a thriving and diverse student body.
  • Serve as an academic advisor, providing guidance and support to students throughout their academic journey.
  • Contribute to university committees and engage with professional organizations to advance the field of physical therapy.
  • Support the accreditation process and uphold the highest standards of excellence within the program.
Qualifications: Required:
  • Doctorate in Physical Therapy or a closely related field.
  • Active physical therapist license in Pennsylvania.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience and 3 years as a clinical instructor, demonstrating a commitment to teaching and mentorship.
Preferred:
  • 8+ years of comprehensive clinical experience, showcasing expertise and leadership in the field.
  • Proven teaching experience in academic settings, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for students.
  • APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor (Level 1), demonstrating advanced proficiency in clinical instruction and mentorship.
Physical Requirements and Hours:
  • Ability to navigate campus effectively, lift moderate weights, and respond promptly to student/faculty needs, demonstrating flexibility and dedication to supporting the academic community.
  • Occasional travel may be required for professional development or collaboration with external partners.
