Job Title: Category Management Director

This is a challenging and exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced Category Management Director to join our team at the NHS. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a critical role in delivering strategic category management initiatives that drive value and savings for our organization.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement category management strategies that align with our business objectives
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver procurement projects and initiatives
  • Manage and optimize procurement processes to ensure compliance with public sector procurement regulations
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure effective communication and collaboration
Requirements:
  • Advanced Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or similar professional institute
  • Educated to Degree level
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Evidence of having undertaken Supply chain management training, Purchasing procedures workshops, and Additional specialist courses
  • Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS)
  • Project Management PRINCE 2
Experience:
  • Proven experience in category management, procurement, or a related field
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement regulations and best practices
  • Experience working with senior staff and clinicians
  • Experience of applying principles of change management
Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex information
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with stakeholders
  • Advanced IT skills, including specialist software for contract management and e-tendering
Working Arrangements:

This is a full-time permanent position, and the successful candidate will be required to work from our offices in the NHS. The role will involve regular travel to meet with stakeholders and suppliers.

The salary for this position is £48,270 to £54,931 per annum, inclusive of HCAS.
