About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at an Alternative Schooling Provision in Chelmsford. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and multi-agency teams to develop personalized learning and care plans.
  • Support students academically, emotionally, and socially, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Manage and set clear boundaries for students with challenging behavior.
  • Encourage positive social interactions and development.
  • Assist students in managing triggers and regulating emotions.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
  • Ability to manage challenging behavior and set clear boundaries.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting young people.
  • Willingness to work with students with complex and sensory needs.
  • Graduates in SEN, Psychology, Criminology, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
