About the Role

Michelle Denny Recruitment is partnering with a well-established local business to find an experienced Business Development Manager. This newly created hybrid role combines building strong relationships with an existing client base and capitalizing on business development skills to extend the reach of their unique products and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate clearly and support existing business contracts, ensuring each client is satisfied with the company's products and services.
  • Research and identify new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, customers, products, and services, with new ways of reaching existing markets.
  • Generate leads and cold call prospective customers, both face-to-face and over the phone.
  • Foster and develop strong relationships with customers, clients, and partners to enable repeat business and find new opportunities.
  • Be hands-on when required and have the ability to work collaboratively within all areas of the business, including the customer service team who will support in account management.
Requirements
  • Experience and proficiency in a business development/account manager role, ideally with a production/manufacturing background.
  • A strategic approach to promote business development, with a professional and personable nature to maintain and expand the existing client base.
  • Resourceful in nature, with the ability to research the market to identify credible leads and gain knowledge and insight into existing clients to generate repeat business.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with marketing and other areas of the business to deliver company objectives.
  • Good IT skills, including knowledge of Sage 200 and the Microsoft Suite.
  • A valid UK driving license with no more than 3 penalty points, as some travel would be required.
