About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Autism Support Specialist to join our team at a lovely primary school in the Barking area. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to provide tailored 1:1 support and deliver a range of interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a child with ASD, developing a strong understanding of their needs and creating a personalized support plan.
  • Deliver a range of interventions, including behavioral support, social skills training, and academic support.
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCo, teachers, and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective support system.
  • Participate in in-house training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with ASD or other special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of SEN and the ability to adapt to individual needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Resilient, committed, and passionate about providing high-quality support to children with ASD.
