About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Young's. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring that high standards of food quality and presentation are maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation
  • Supervise and train junior kitchen staff to ensure they are working efficiently and effectively
  • Monitor and control kitchen inventory, ensuring that stock levels are maintained and waste is minimized
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu ideas to enhance the dining experience for our customers
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure that the kitchen is running smoothly and efficiently, and that all health and safety standards are met
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and productive kitchen team culture
  • Participate in staff training and development programs to enhance your skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume kitchen environment
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a focus on quality, presentation, and consistency
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train junior staff
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures and protocols
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
