Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Physiotherapist to join our team in the older adult inpatient wards. This role is ideal for those with a keen interest in dementia care and functional mental health conditions, or for professionals looking to leverage their skills in a new environment.

Our facility is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals experiencing mental health crises related to conditions such as dementia, depression, and anxiety.

Our team consists of experienced physiotherapists and support staff, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists.

We prioritize non-pharmacological interventions and adopt a holistic approach to patient care, creating an ideal setting for innovative physiotherapists to apply their assessment and care planning expertise.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

Effectively manage and prioritize a diverse workload, responding to competing demands. Exhibit excellent communication skills, engaging with patients, caregivers, and colleagues at all levels. Assess patients with complex cognitive impairments to devise tailored treatment plans. Provide specialized guidance to other healthcare professionals, patients, and their families. Actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing physiotherapy insights. Work across multiple wards and community settings. Collaborate with the wider Physiotherapy team for clinical supervision and professional growth. Utilize Electronic Patient Records to document patient interactions. Hold a valid UK driving license and have access to suitable transportation.

Qualifications Required

Essential Criteria

Chartered Physiotherapist (CSP) HCPC registered Physiotherapist

Post-graduate qualification in mental health

Relevant post-qualification experience. Experience in mental health or learning disabilities. Skills in teaching and supervision. Experience in conducting audits.

Experience in geriatric care.
