The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to champion the healthcare needs of people with learning disabilities across our organization.

As part of our commitment to providing equitable and high-quality care, we are building a team focused on raising awareness and improving the experiences of individuals with learning disabilities within our Trust.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure person-centered care for individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Advocate for the unique needs and rights of this patient population.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance communication and understanding within healthcare settings.
  • Contribute to training programs and educational initiatives focused on learning disability awareness.
  • Participate in research and audit activities to improve the quality of care provided.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Current registration with the NMC or relevant professional regulatory body.

• Professional knowledge at a degree level or equivalent, plus diploma-level training or equivalent in your specialist area, accompanied by demonstrable experience.

• Evidence of ongoing professional development.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • Additional training/CPD in learning disabilities and/or autism.
  • In-depth knowledge of Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults, Child Protection, the Mental Capacity Act, and DoLS/LPS.
  • Current experience working with individuals with learning disabilities in an acute setting.
  • Experience in research, audit, handling clinical incidents, and managing complaints.
