Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Development Manager to join our team at Vistry Group PLC. As a key member of our Land and Planning department, you will be responsible for overseeing the pre-construction phases of development projects, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the development process from land acquisition to project completion, ensuring all legal, design, and planning issues are addressed.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including estimating, mobilisation, and construction teams, to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Prepare and present reports and risk registers to internal stakeholders, ensuring audit compliance and internal approvals.
  • Appoint and manage consultant teams, including architects and engineers, to produce scheme-specific information and ensure timely submission to planning authorities.
  • Maintain excellent communication with project teams and stakeholders, ensuring relevant information is shared and actions are progressed in a timely manner.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, working with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimum A-level standard or equivalent education, or relevant experience in a similar position.
  • Proficient in MS Office programmes, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience in a development role within the construction, property development, or housing industry.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and lead the development process.
  • Good geographic knowledge of the area.
  • Organised and methodical, with good attention to detail.
  • Highly numerate, with the ability to undertake feasibility appraisals.
  • Highly literate, with the ability to understand and interpret complex legal documentation.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise.
  • Able to work under own initiative, with good decision-making skills and a keen sense of responsibility.
  • Professional manner.
  • Able to work as part of a team, as well as autonomously.
  • Ability to communicate well with individuals at all levels.
  • Able to travel regularly throughout the area, with access to a vehicle on a daily basis.
