We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities to join our team at NHS Professionals. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic and operational management of our estates and facilities functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership and Management:
    • Develop and align our estate strategy with clinical and corporate objectives.
    • Lead the delivery of major capital projects, including planning for redevelopment, backlog, and investment.
    • Manage our estates infrastructure and master planning.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Policy Development and Implementation:
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance and safety.
    • Lead change management initiatives and ensure effective staff communication.
    • Drive continuous improvement in estates and facilities services, incorporating patient feedback and national standards.
  • New Hospital Development:
    • Support the development of business cases for new build projects.
    • Lead estates and facilities work streams to ensure a patient-centred built environment and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A relevant degree and (ideally, but not essentially) post-graduate qualification (level 8).
  • Chartered professional registration/accreditation / Project management certification.
  • Broad understanding of the NHS context and national agenda.
  • Extensive senior management experience in estates and facilities.
  • Technical, construction, and project management skills.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning and budget management.
  • Effective partnership working across sectors.
  • Financial control and risk management expertise.
  • Achieving ambitious targets within tight budgets.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
