Job Title: Band 6 Physiotherapist

As a Band 6 Physiotherapist at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, you will play a key role in assessing and treating patients with complex and chronic presentations. You will work autonomously, determining diagnoses and developing treatment programmes without direct supervision.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Support senior staff in planning and organizing physiotherapy team activities and programmes.
  2. Teach, supervise, and appraise recently qualified physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants, and undergraduate students.
  3. Adhere to departmental protocols, Trust policies, and professional codes of conduct.
  4. Promote equality and diversity practices to ensure equity of access to care and job opportunities.

Key Requirements

  • Diploma in Physiotherapy or BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy or MSC Rehab studies or overseas equivalent.
  • Evidence of relevant post-graduate courses/CPD and reflective practice.
  • Post-graduate experience working as a junior physiotherapist or osteopath.
  • Health and Care Professions Council registration.
  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and/or relevant Clinical Interest Groups.
  • Experience of community-based services.
  • Giving presentations to physiotherapy colleagues and mixed professional audiences.
  • Ability to assess undergraduate physiotherapy students.
