About the Position

Are you a skilled manufacturing operative or machine technician seeking a new opportunity that offers diverse responsibilities and an excellent benefits package?

We are in search of a Winder and Converting Specialist to become a vital part of our team. In this role, you will be tasked with managing one of our high-speed converting lines and rewinders, ensuring optimal performance with minimal waste while adhering to customer requirements.

If you possess experience in a production or manufacturing setting and have operated a forklift truck, we would like to hear from you.

This position is primarily days-based, operating from 8am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. However, flexibility to work shifts, including two days followed by two nights and then four days off, may be required as you advance in your role.

Job Responsibilities

The primary focus of this position is to sustain the operational efficiency of the rewinder, converting line, and packaging line, ensuring that production runs smoothly with minimal waste in line with customer specifications and paper machine output.

This must be accomplished while upholding high standards of cleanliness and adhering to all health and safety regulations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating the rewinder with a strong emphasis on safety and cleanliness.
  • Comprehensively understanding the entire rewinding process, including the loading and unloading of reels.
  • Testing each reel produced from the rewinder, documenting, analyzing, and making necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Safely and efficiently starting and stopping the rewinder.
  • Assisting, monitoring, or directing the converting and packaging line to resolve any issues.
  • Safely handling heavy goods vehicles, including wrapping, unwrapping, weighing, stacking, moving, loading, and unloading using a forklift truck.

This Production Operator position is ideal for candidates with backgrounds as Production Operatives, Manufacturing Operatives, Machine Operators, Factory Operatives, Forklift Drivers, or similar roles. If this aligns with your experience, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

Essential Qualifications
  • Forklift truck experience is preferred.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Able to commute within one hour of the location.
  • Experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in mathematics, English, and IT.
  • Basic IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
