Production Operator

We are seeking a skilled Production Operator to join our team at Northwood, a leading manufacturer of paper hygiene and wiping products. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating high-speed converting lines and rewinding machines, ensuring efficient operation with minimal waste.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a factory or manufacturing environment, with a strong background in operating machinery and maintaining a high standard of housekeeping. Forklift truck experience is desirable, but not essential.
This is a days-based role working 8am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday, with the possibility of shift work as the candidate progresses in the role.
Key Responsibilities- Operate the rewinder and converting line to a high standard of safety and good housekeeping.
- Understand the entire rewinding process, including loading and unloading of reels.
- Test each reel manufactured off the rewinder, recording and analysing results to ensure product meets specifications.
- Stop and start the rewinder safely and efficiently.
- Operate, assist, monitor, or direct the converting and packaging line as needed.
- Safely wrap, unwrap, weigh, stack, move, load, and unload heavy goods vehicles using a forklift truck.
- Forklift truck experience desirable.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Able to commute within 1 hour of Lancaster.
- Experience in a factory or manufacturing environment.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in maths, English, and IT.
- Basic IT skills and experience with Microsoft Office.
