Travel Retail Counter Manager

Position Overview:
The Counter Manager is accountable for the comprehensive management of their terminal, ensuring the fulfillment of all retail objectives while identifying and implementing strategies to enhance retail performance and expand the terminal's business potential. This role involves overseeing recruitment, training, and development for the entire Clinique consultant team, leading by example to foster an effective and efficient operation. The Counter Manager will proactively drive inventory and sales, mentor the team to deliver outstanding customer service, and seize all sales opportunities. Additional responsibilities include team development and providing support within the business framework. Building robust relationships with retail partners and stores is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Retail Business Management:
- Consistently update and align retail targets with relevant stakeholders, communicating these to the Clinique team monthly to ensure clarity and achievement of goals.
- Analyze business performance: compare retail results against targets, assess key performance indicators, and identify growth opportunities.
- Conduct monthly and weekly reviews to evaluate target achievements and explore avenues for growth.
- Facilitate team and retailer meetings to discuss performance and strategies.
- Develop and manage a six-month activity planner to ensure target achievement aligned with brand strategy.
- Proactively seek methods to enhance sales opportunities and service standards while coaching consultants.
- Execute bi-monthly promotional events, tracking sales results and evaluating effectiveness.
- Adapt to brand changes in strategy and retail plans, participating in monthly management reviews.
- Monitor competitor activities and discuss insights with management to enhance business competitiveness.
- Maintain effective communication with the Store Management Team, holding regular meetings to review key business areas and overall performance.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly reports detailing retail performance against targets and market trends.
Team Management:
- Inspire and motivate team members through in-store coaching, setting clear objectives, and conducting regular reviews to meet brand key performance indicators.
- Serve as a role model for team members in conduct, appearance, and sales techniques.
- Ensure all team members uphold high standards of personal grooming and address any issues promptly.
- Communicate effectively with the team through daily, weekly, and monthly updates, holding productive meetings to discuss performance and achievements.
- Complete all HR documentation accurately and on time.
- Address performance issues promptly in accordance with company policy, seeking guidance when necessary.
- Optimize team scheduling to ensure adequate coverage during peak times.
- Guarantee exceptional customer service from all team members at all times.
- Prepare the team and counter for passenger visits, ensuring a welcoming environment.
Stock Management:
- Monitor stock levels, particularly on key products, and take action to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Attend stock assessments regularly to ensure inventory accuracy.
Merchandising:
- Maintain merchandising displays and counter hygiene to reflect the Clinique brand image.
- Ensure adherence to visual merchandising guidelines and communicate any updates to the team.
Recruitment:
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they receive proper training and mentorship.
- Proactively fill vacancies and assist in recruiting top talent.
Education:
- Educate and coach the team on product knowledge and sales techniques to enhance customer experience.
- Promote self-learning and completion of training modules.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and weekends.
- Previous retail management experience is preferred.
- Must possess a valid passport for airport work.
- Must meet security clearance requirements for airport access.
