Job Title: Interim Head of Global Controllers

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead our global financial operations team at Tearfund. As Interim Head of Global Controllers, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of our organization globally, ensuring the integrity of our core financial systems and maintaining compliance with international accounting standards and external requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the global financial operations team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with international accounting standards, and effective financial management.
  • Develop and implement financial controls and procedures across all regions where Tearfund operates.
  • Oversee UK tax affairs, including quarterly VAT returns, global payroll, and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Senior Management Team to drive financial strategy and decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with significant experience in financial management in the international relief and development NGO sector.
  • Proven track record of leading financial operations teams and implementing financial controls and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Contract/Hours: Interim (6-month contract with the potential to become permanent), full-time.
