The Interim Head of Global Controllers will lead the team responsible for managing Tearfund's global financial operations, ensuring the integrity of core financial systems. This role involves maintaining financial accuracy, compliance with international accounting standards, effective financial reporting, oversight of UK tax affairs, and implementation of financial controls and procedures across all regions where Tearfund operates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the team that oversees and manages the financial operations of Tearfund globally.
  • Maintain the integrity of core financial systems, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance with international accounting standards.
  • Ensure effective financial reporting and oversight of UK tax affairs, including quarterly VAT returns.
  • Implement financial controls and procedures across all regions where Tearfund operates.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Accountant - ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification.
  • Proven experience in financial management in the international relief and development NGO sector.

This is an interim role with a 6-month contract, with the potential to become permanent. The successful candidate will need to start as soon as possible and have immediate availability or a notice period of 1 month or less.
