The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative and clerical skills, demonstrating the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues while also exercising independent judgment to manage tasks efficiently. Proficiency in typing is essential, as this role heavily relies on accurate data entry and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide courteous and prompt assistance to all visitors and callers.
- Input essential patient information into the computer system, particularly regarding admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Prepare necessary documentation and admission/discharge packs for nursing staff.
- Organize and maintain patient records within SDEC, ensuring all documentation is methodically arranged, including printing patient front sheets and labels.
- Facilitate timely coding and scanning of patient notes, ensuring all activities are accurately recorded in the system.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence efficiently, ensuring proper distribution of mail.
- Update staffing and patient boards on a daily basis.
- Ensure that all signage within the unit is current and accurate.
- Proactively manage a diverse workload, demonstrating effective time management and prioritization skills to meet daily and weekly objectives.
- Register patients in the IT system, updating records as necessary to maintain accuracy.
- Maintain the appointment diary, ensuring proper record-keeping, photocopying, and filing.
- Remove patients from the IT referral system once appointments are confirmed.
- Ensure availability of essential paperwork and relevant patient forms, including lifestyle advice leaflets and outpatient prescriptions.

Qualifications and Skills Required
