About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pastry Chef to join our team at Absolute Taste. As a Pastry Chef, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Head Pastry Chef and kitchen team to develop and execute menu items, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
  • Label and rotate stock accurately, including allergen information, to maintain a safe and efficient kitchen environment.
  • Ensure that all food prepared meets the highest standards of quality, presentation, and taste.
  • Work in a well-organized manner, cleaning as you go, to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen.
  • Prepare, produce, and pack food to meet deadlines, ensuring timely delivery to our customers.
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of kitchen equipment, such as the ice cream pasteuriser and machine, to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Assist with stock management, cleaning fridges, rotating stock, and stock counting to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Adhere to proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to meet the demands of production, weddings, and outside catering events, which may require varying hours and locations.
  • Be prepared to work away from the main location on events, which can be a great opportunity to gain new experiences and skills.
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions to menu development, demonstrating a passion for food and creativity.

Requirements
  • Be passionate about great food and possess exceptional attention to detail.
  • Be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Have experience working in pastry in a restaurant or possess a pastry qualification.
  • Have at least one year of experience working as a Pastry Chef in a fresh food background.
Working Hours and Benefits

Working hours: 07:30 to 17:00, with some weekends and evenings during event season.
