Job Overview

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Leadership Specialist to lead and develop midwifery services, providing expert clinical leadership and promoting high-quality care for women and their families.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and Manage Midwifery Services: Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes, safety, and experience, ensuring high-quality care for women and their families.
  • Provide Expert Clinical Leadership: Guide and support midwives and other healthcare professionals, promoting best practice in midwifery care and contributing to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Develop and Implement Clinical Pathways: Create and implement clinical pathways and guidelines that promote best practice in midwifery care, improving patient outcomes and safety.
  • Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work with other healthcare professionals to promote seamless care and improve patient flow, contributing to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Develop and Deliver Education and Training: Create and deliver education and training programs for midwives and other healthcare professionals, promoting best practice in midwifery care and improving patient outcomes.

Person Specification
  • Registered Midwife with Current Registration with the NMC
  • Teaching Accreditation: ENB 997/ or Equivalent
  • Recent Relevant Practice at Band 8A and Above
  • Car Driver

  • Masters Degree, or Working Towards a Masters Degree
  • Professional Midwifery Advocate
  • Accredited Management Training
