About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our team at easyJet. As a key member of our Data Science team, you will play a critical role in driving business innovation and growth through the application of advanced data analytics and optimization techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of optimization algorithms and mathematical models to solve complex business problems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance our optimization capabilities and drive business outcomes.
  • Communicate complex optimization concepts to non-technical stakeholders and provide expert guidance on data-driven decision making.
  • Participate in the majority of the Data Science Project Lifecycle, utilizing knowledge of the Data Science Toolbox.
Management Track

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills and take on a management role, leading a team of junior data scientists and providing guidance and support to help them grow in their careers.

Specialist Track

You will have the opportunity to develop a deep knowledge of a broad area of specialization, such as optimization techniques or network and scheduling, and act as a trusted expert within the Data Science team.

Requirements
  • Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and one compute-optimized language.
  • Intermediate knowledge of optimization techniques, including linear programming, integer programming, mixed-integer programming, and constraint programming.
  • Familiarity with optimization platforms and packages, such as Gurobi, ORTools, CPLEX, or PuLP.
  • Knowledge of the Data Science Toolbox, including mathematics, statistics, computer programming, data ingestion, data munging, data visualization, machine learning, optimization, simulation, reinforcement learning, and big data techniques and technologies.
  • A good analytical background, with a degree or MSc in a scientific or engineering field, or equivalent commercial experience.
