About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our team at easyJet. As a key member of our Data Science team, you will play a critical role in driving business innovation and growth through the application of advanced data analytics and optimization techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of optimization algorithms and mathematical models to solve complex business problems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance our optimization capabilities and drive business outcomes.
  • Communicate complex optimization concepts to non-technical stakeholders and provide expert guidance on data-driven decision making.
  • Participate in the majority of the Data Science Project Lifecycle, utilizing knowledge of the Data Science Toolbox.
Management Track
  • Line manage junior team members with support from senior leadership team.
Specialist Track
  • Develop a deep knowledge of a sufficiently broad area of specialism, such as Optimization or Network & Scheduling, and act as a valued and trusted expert within the Data Science team.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues to help them develop technical excellence and deliver training sessions in your specialist area.
Requirements
  • Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and one compute-optimized language.
  • Intermediate knowledge of optimization techniques, including Linear Programming, Integer Programming, Mixed-Integer Programming, and constraint programming.
  • Familiarity with optimization platforms and packages, such as Gurobi, ORTools, CPLEX, or PuLP.
  • Knowledge of the Data Science Toolbox, including Mathematics and Statistics, computer programming, Data Ingestion, Data Munging, Data Visualization, Machine Learning, Optimization, Simulation, Reinforcement Learning, and Big Data techniques and technologies.
  • A good analytical background, with a degree or MSc in a scientific or engineering field, or equivalent commercial experience.
