Senior Data Scientist

EasyJet is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our Data Science team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing optimization models, analyzing data to identify innovation opportunities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive delivery of the models we build.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the data science and analytics team to advance the team's optimization capabilities and communicate complex optimization concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Participate in the majority of the Data Science Project Lifecycle utilizing knowledge of the Data Science Toolbox.
  • Develop a broad area of specialism, such as optimization or network and scheduling, and become a valued and trusted expert within the Data Science team.
  • Contribute to the majority of the Data Science Project Lifecycle from idea to production.
  • Work with senior team members to define and use key performance indicators (KPIs) and diagnostics to measure performance against business goals.
  • Understand and monitor data quality to improve confidence in the data used for analysis.
  • Follow Agile methodologies and an hypothesis-driven approach.
  • Contribute to hiring and building a great pool of Data Scientists for your team.
  • Develop a deep knowledge of a broad area of specialism and act as a valued and trusted expert within the Data Science team.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues within the Data Science team to help them develop technical excellence.
  • Deliver training sessions for the Data Science team in your specialist area.
Requirements:
  • Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and one compute-optimized language.
  • Knowledge of the Data Science Toolbox, including mathematics and statistics, computer programming, data ingestion, data munging, data visualization, machine learning, optimization, simulation, reinforcement learning, and big data techniques and technologies.
  • A good analytical background, with a degree or MSc in a scientific/engineering field or equivalent commercial experience.
