Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

About the Role:

Randstad Construction and Property is seeking a skilled Mobile Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Cambridge. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, completing paperwork and reports, and providing out-of-hours cover for clients.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out PPM tasks and complete relevant documentation.
  2. Be part of a call-out rota to ensure 24/7 client coverage.
  3. Oversee visiting sub-contractors to ensure high standards of work and adherence to Health and Safety protocols.
  4. Assist with tasks on other properties within the portfolio as needed.
  5. Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
  6. Comply with Health and Safety regulations.
  7. Perform daily maintenance tasks, including UPS system checks, plumbing and drainage inspections, boiler room checks, and maintenance of cooling towers, fan coil units, and heating pumps.

Requirements:

  1. City & Guilds or NVQ mechanical qualification (or equivalent).
  2. Experience in a commercial environment.
  3. Desirable: experience working in a hospital or R&D setting.
  4. Good building services knowledge.
  5. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  6. Pass a DBS check.
