Join Our Esteemed Team as a Lead Project Manager

Are you an ambitious, proactive individual with a solid history in project oversight? We are in search of a Lead Project Manager to guide our innovative team in managing intricate infrastructure initiatives from start to finish. With project budgets ranging from £20k to £3m+, you will play a pivotal role in delivering significant enhancements to our transportation networks.

In this position, you will not only drive projects to fruition but also mentor and oversee a skilled group of project managers, assistant project managers, and emerging professionals. Your leadership will guarantee that our varied portfolio of projects is completed punctually and within financial constraints, while excelling in the six key performance areas: Health & Safety, Quality, Cost, Environment, Delivery, and People.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary Duties:

Stakeholder Engagement – Cultivate and sustain robust collaborative relationships with the Portfolio Manager, Senior Project Manager, Construction Teams, and essential internal and external stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive understanding of project delivery goals, monitor project performance, and devise solutions to challenges. Ensure adherence to contractual obligations, clarifying roles and responsibilities within your team, addressing risks and issues promptly, generating timely and precise reports, and maintaining specified records including change management. Identify and assess emerging risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints related to the project, escalating as necessary. When required, develop, agree upon, and implement solutions to navigate these challenges. Lead and supervise projects throughout their entire lifecycle, from feasibility and design to construction and handover, informing investment proposals for our clients at each phase. Maintain a global or master programme for entire portfolios. Oversee programme income and cost profiles, scrutinizing and challenging the input from Project Managers. Client interaction at both project and portfolio levels. Facilitate and drive regular project reviews to ensure the following are current and actionable: Project and division risk register, project risk category, review submissions register, correspondence register progress comments and milestone dates, project income and cost forecast, project change, and project priorities for resource allocation. Manage correspondence and inquiries through the designated platform. Oversee project change control and review processes and procedures. Assign projects to Project Managers based on relevant knowledge, experience, ability, and workload. Collaborate closely with the Construction team to ensure permits, certificates, and site reporting are managed appropriately and align with project requirements. Manage NEC Contracts Options as Project Manager.

Who We Seek:

Proven experience in delivering infrastructure construction and maintenance operations or similar relevant experience. Project Management expertise, ideally supported by recognized qualifications such as PRINCE2 or APMP. Preference for a minimum of HNC/HND (or equivalent) in civil engineering or a related construction discipline. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of various design areas. Awareness of environmental requirements for projects. Experience in coordinating interfaces with design teams and external resources. Understanding of Health & Safety requirements related to infrastructure construction and maintenance. Familiarity with CDM and other Health & Safety legislation. Competent in fulfilling duties under CDM regulations. Valid CSCS Card. Leadership and management experience in enhancing performance and productivity. Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities. Customer-focused with a service delivery mindset. Commercial awareness and experience in budget management. Understanding of Lean principles.

Experience:

Senior-level experience in delivering infrastructure construction and maintenance operations or similar relevant experience. Previous experience in a comparable role with demonstrable competence in relation to the majority of the responsibilities outlined above. Experience managing projects through their complete lifecycle.

Work Arrangement:

This is a hybrid role designed to maximize team collaboration on projects, with an expectation of spending a minimum of 60% of your time at the office.
