Utilizing an advanced clinical trial platform, they play a pivotal role in the development of drugs and vaccines and are currently enhancing their state-of-the-art clinical facilities in Central Manchester. Consequently, they are seeking to expand their clinical trials team by recruiting a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) for their Manchester clinic.

This is a remarkable opportunity to join a leading clinical research organization, collaborating with a team of skilled and dedicated clinical professionals who are advancing the testing of products related to infectious and respiratory diseases in drug discovery and development.


Key Responsibilities of the Healthcare Assistant (HCA) include:

  • Executing clinical procedures while ensuring the precision and reliability of collected data.
  • Assisting in the daily operations of the clinical environment.
  • Performing receptionist and administrative tasks for incoming volunteers during screening or follow-up visits, ensuring the reception area is consistently staffed during clinic hours.
  • Screening eligible participants, including obtaining consent.
  • Monitoring workspaces and practices to guarantee safety, compliance with health, safety, and security regulations, policies, and guidelines.
  • Addressing inquiries, managing filing, preparing audit information, entering data into databases, and handling general correspondence efficiently.
  • Completing Case Report Forms (CRFs) and other required data points accurately as dictated by the protocol.
  • Adhering to ICH/GCP standards and best practices consistently, while following internal policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and Study Protocols.


Qualifications and Experience Required for the Healthcare Assistant (HCA) role:

  • A degree or equivalent experience in a Biological Science such as Biology, Pharmacology, Physiology, Sports Science, Biomedical Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, such as hospitality, healthcare, or sales.
  • A solid understanding of UK healthcare practices, including ICH-GCP, is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with volunteers and colleagues.
  • Experience in administration and documentation, given the emphasis on this within clinical research.
  • Proficient IT skills (Word and Excel or equivalent) with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to ensure the efficient operation of the clinic and studies.
  • Practical experience in Phlebotomy practices, such as venepuncture, is highly beneficial.
  • Previous experience in a hospital environment, clinical research, or knowledge of Clinical Care is a plus.
