Job Title: Medical Workforce Officer

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse in the Children's Surgical ward at The Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital in Brighton.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Children's Nurse to join our team as a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise in the care of children undergoing surgery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide effective clinical leadership and expertise in the care of children undergoing surgery
  • Act as a role model and expert practitioner
  • Undertake delegated responsibility in the absence of the ward manager
  • Assist the ward manager in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care
  • Ensure that all patients have a plan of care that is individualized and evidence-based
  • Assist the ward manager in ensuring that there is regular review of documentation practice and that focused action plans are developed when areas of concern are identified
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate who has:

  • Registered Children's Nurse qualification
  • Recognized course leading to qualification in teaching and assessing or in process
  • Proven experience of working with children undergoing surgery
  • Experience of shift leading (desirable)
