Llanarth Court Hospital is a 95-bed secure facility offering a safe environment that includes medium, low, and open rehabilitation settings for individuals with mental health issues and/or personality disorders.

We are currently seeking a Lead Nursing Officer to enhance our team.

The primary responsibility of the lead nursing officer will be to assist the ward manager in overseeing a secure ward for patients under the mental health act, who present with mental health challenges, personality disorders, and/or learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:


• Provide clinical and leadership expertise to support the nursing team effectively.


• Adapt to changes and evolving service needs with flexibility.


• Assume the role of acting ward manager in their absence, demonstrating a commitment to professional growth and expanded responsibilities.


• Serve as a role model for colleagues, consistently embodying the core values of Priory.


• While experience in a forensic environment is advantageous, a strong desire to work in this challenging field is essential.


• Lead clinical initiatives and possess a comprehensive understanding of patient needs.


• Exhibit the ability to mentor junior staff and demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.

Required Qualifications & Skills:


• Registered nurse with an active NMC PIN and a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.


• Relevant clinical background.


• A positive attitude and dedication to continuous improvement and quality care.


• Ability to implement innovative and flexible approaches to practice.


• Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
