Join Our Team: Research Assistant / Research Associate

Newcastle University invites skilled professionals to become part of our innovative team within the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) North East and North Cumbria. In the role of Research Assistant or Research Associate, you will be instrumental in advancing our Supporting Children and Families initiative, enhancing ongoing projects and spearheading new research endeavors.

Key Duties:

  • Engage in current projects and initiate new research programs focused on maternity, infants, children, and families
  • Conduct high-caliber research within set timelines, ensuring project goals are met
  • Draft manuscripts for publication and share research findings at academic conferences
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and assist in student-led projects
  • Promote public involvement and engagement in research activities

Essential Qualifications and Competencies:

For Research Assistant:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Proven experience in qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods research
  • Capability to co-author scholarly publications
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities

For Research Associate:

  • Master's degree in a pertinent discipline
  • PhD in public health, maternal health, or child health
  • Demonstrated experience in leading qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods research
  • Proficiency in managing complex projects and authoring peer-reviewed publications
