About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a research team at Newcastle University, working on projects related to palliative care, end of life care, and long-term conditions. As a Research Assistant/Associate, you will play a key role in conducting high-quality research, collecting and analyzing data, and contributing to the development of research proposals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research studies, including data collection and analysis, to address the aims and objectives of the projects.
  • Develop and implement research protocols, including obtaining ethical approvals and ensuring compliance with research regulations.
  • Collaborate with the research team, including the Principal Investigator, to develop and implement research plans.
  • Contribute to the development of research proposals, including writing and editing sections.
  • Present research findings at conferences and meetings, and prepare reports for publication.

Requirements

  • PhD in a relevant subject area, such as public health, social gerontology, or epidemiology.
  • Experience in conducting high-quality research, including data collection and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with best practices in research.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in conducting applied health research on sensitive topics.
  • Experience in evidence synthesis, qualitative data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to work flexibly and cooperatively with others, including travel within the UK if required.
