Research Assistant/Associate Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Research Assistant/Associate on the Chameleon project. This exciting opportunity is part of a collaborative effort between Newcastle University and the Universities of Manchester and Essex.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and evaluate the first generation of Chameleon processors
  • Work on a soft-core environmentally-aware CPU design built around the RISC-V instruction set architecture
  • Contribute to the development of novel solutions for code and data confidentiality
  • Collaborate with project colleagues to deliver creative technical solutions

Requirements:

  • PhD (or close to completion) in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
  • Development experience using FPGAs and microcontrollers
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of applied cryptography, CPU design principles, and information security
