Our client is a reputable and expanding organization that provides a comprehensive range of M&E and facilities management solutions throughout the UK. They ensure that every project is handled with care and expertise, supported by a dedicated engineering team and dependable building services professionals.
As the Mechanical Project Manager, you will oversee M&E and facilities projects from inception to completion. Your responsibilities will encompass planned mechanical maintenance, installation, project design, valuation assessments, and budgetary reporting.
You will serve as the primary point of contact for both the engineering team and clients throughout the project lifecycle, fostering essential relationships, managing costs and timelines, and delivering optimal solutions tailored to client needs.
This role will require travel across various sites in the Midlands and North West of the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the central point of contact and lead for the project team throughout the delivery process.
- Establish and nurture key relationships with clients and stakeholders to guarantee consistent service delivery.
- Conduct project valuations and manage variations, ensuring thorough understanding of standard construction contracts and processes.
- Oversee subcontractor management commercially, ensuring compliance with procurement processes.
- Manage day-to-day labor resources and subcontractors effectively.
- Provide regular updates on project expenditures in relation to the budget.
- Perform site surveys for new and existing installations.
- Engage in tendering for new projects and cultivate new client relationships.
- Implement health and safety planning and management.
Qualifications Required:
- Proven experience in mechanical engineering, electrical installation, or facilities management.
- Commercial expertise in managing construction contracts.
- Relevant qualifications such as C&G or HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
- Health & Safety certifications (e.g., SMSTS, CSCS, IOSH).
- A Project Management qualification is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Proven ability to secure new business opportunities.
