Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Smart Manufacturing is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Stoke-on-Trent. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and products that meet our high standards of quality and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop mechanical systems and products, including fabricated structures, sheet metalwork, and machined components.
- Produce general arrangement and assembly drawings/instructions as required.
- Take responsibility for bills of materials to support assemblies.
- Ensure that mechanical designs include support for electrical and other system components.
- Work within the engineering design framework, participating in design reviews, new project kick-off meetings, and customer meetings as required.
- Responsible for design sign-off to the manufacturing group and processing Engineering Change Requests (ECR's) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO's) through the document control system.
- HNC or higher in mechanical engineering is preferred, although equivalent industrial experience will be considered.
- SolidWorks design experience is essential with a proven track record in the design of fabrications, sheet metalwork, and machined components.
