The Bereavement Services team is seeking to recruit a Compassionate Care Coordinator to join our dedicated Bereavement Office. This role will involve working across multiple locations on a rotational basis, including potential weekend shifts.
The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and a calm demeanor in challenging situations. Proficiency in IT and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team are essential. Daily interactions with grieving families require excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Performing administrative tasks such as data entry, document management, and correspondence.
- Serving as the primary contact for both internal and external parties regarding deceased individuals.
- Engaging with distressed relatives in a respectful and sensitive manner, utilizing empathy and diplomacy to facilitate understanding and resolution.
- Conducting meetings with bereaved families, providing essential information, support, and guidance on matters such as death registration and funeral arrangements.
- Ensuring the proper documentation and secure storage of deceased patients' belongings in accordance with established protocols.
- Addressing inquiries and concerns from the public and funeral directors with sensitivity, escalating issues to management as necessary.
- Answering office telephones promptly and handling inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess:
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics.
- NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration, Customer Service, or IT, or equivalent experience.

- Direct experience working with the public in emotionally charged situations.
- Familiarity with data management and the importance of maintaining data integrity.
