The Bereavement Services team is seeking to recruit a Compassionate Care Coordinator to join our dedicated Bereavement Office. This role will involve working across multiple locations on a rotational basis, including potential weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Performing administrative tasks such as data entry, document management, and correspondence.
  • Serving as the primary contact for both internal and external parties regarding deceased individuals.
  • Engaging with distressed relatives in a respectful and sensitive manner, utilizing empathy and diplomacy to facilitate understanding and resolution.
  • Conducting meetings with bereaved families, providing essential information, support, and guidance on matters such as death registration and funeral arrangements.
  • Ensuring the proper documentation and secure storage of deceased patients' belongings in accordance with established protocols.
  • Addressing inquiries and concerns from the public and funeral directors with sensitivity, escalating issues to management as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess:

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration, Customer Service, or IT, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a busy office environment, particularly in administrative roles.
  • Direct experience working with the public in emotionally charged situations.
  • Familiarity with data management and the importance of maintaining data integrity.
