Assistant Professor in Simulation of Energy Materials

We are seeking a talented scientist with a developing international profile to join our team as an Assistant Professor in Simulation of Energy Materials. The successful candidate will have a strong background in the theory and simulation of materials relevant to the energy transition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in the area of simulation and modelling of materials for energy generation, storage, and conversion, and in catalysis.
  • Develop and maintain a strong research programme, including supervising PhD students and postdoctoral researchers.
  • Teach and contribute to the development of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the Department of Chemistry.
  • Contribute to the running of the MPhil programme in Advanced Materials for the Energy Transition, including course management, admission of students, and creation and delivery of lectures.
Requirements
  • PhD in a relevant subject area.
  • Experience of leading a successful research programme.
  • Aptitude and enthusiasm for teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Ability to contribute to academic activities in the Department and more widely in the School of Physical Sciences.
