Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Advocacy Specialist to join our team at TDA Group. As an Advocacy Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting survivors of domestic violence, providing them with the necessary tools and resources to rebuild their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Manage high-risk domestic violence cases, conducting thorough risk assessments and creating comprehensive safety plans to ensure the well-being of survivors.
- Support Services: Provide practical and emotional support to survivors, focusing on legal advice, housing needs, and tenancy support to empower them to make informed decisions.
- Collaboration and Partnerships: Work closely with external agencies, such as law enforcement, healthcare providers, and social services, to ensure coordinated support for survivors and their families.
- Leadership and Advocacy: Lead and participate in Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC) to protect survivors and their children from further harm.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, ensuring compliance with safeguarding and data protection policies to maintain the trust of our clients.
- Court Support: Provide expert court support, including preparation for hearings and trials, to ensure survivors receive the justice they deserve.
Requirements:
- Expertise: Strong knowledge of domestic violence support, criminal justice processes, and legal remedies to provide effective support to survivors.
- Experience: Proven experience in case management and multi-agency collaboration to ensure seamless support for survivors.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to advocate for survivors and build strong relationships with external agencies.
- Safeguarding: Understanding of safeguarding issues and the ability to act appropriately to ensure the well-being of survivors and their families.
- Technical Skills: Experience using case management systems and completing thorough documentation to maintain accurate records.
- Commitment: Commitment to supporting vulnerable groups, including LGBTQ+ and disabled individuals, to ensure inclusive and equitable support services.
