We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Service Technician to join our dedicated team focused on maintaining wind energy solutions.

Your Impact:

In the role of Service Technician, you will play a crucial part in the upkeep and servicing of wind turbines for Nordex UK. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks, including repairs, diagnostics, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal turbine performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site performance evaluations and implement improvement strategies.
  • Collaborate with fellow technicians and administrative staff to provide practical demonstrations.
  • Assist in enhancing the performance of individual turbines facing issues.
  • Deliver necessary software and hardware updates on-site.
  • Provide technical support through various communication channels.
  • Generate detailed reports regarding turbine operations and components.
  • Manage alarm settings and parameter adjustments as required.

Our standard working hours are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. In the event of turbine issues outside of regular hours, you may be required to extend your shift. Additionally, on-call duties will be expected every few weekends, with compensation for overtime and on-call responsibilities.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess a background in the Mechanical or Electrical sectors, demonstrating proficiency in interpreting electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics.

You should have formal training in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines, either through apprenticeship or technical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).

Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to analyze technical data, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement are essential. A positive mindset and eagerness to learn and adapt are highly valued.

Proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Office and database management systems, is required; familiarity with SAP is a plus.

This position involves working at heights, necessitating good physical fitness and the ability to pass height safety assessments.

Regular travel, including overnight stays, will be part of the role. A valid UK/EU driving license is mandatory.
