As a key member of the production support team, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing precision tooling, ensuring smooth and efficient manufacturing operations. Your expertise in benchwork techniques, machining capabilities, and preventative maintenance systems will be instrumental in upholding the company's reputation for quality and reliability.

Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and resolve production line breakdowns promptly and effectively.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of press tooling using benchwork techniques and machining equipment.
  • Disassemble, clean, and inspect press tools to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive systems of work for toolroom operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all tasks performed, ensuring traceability and compliance with industry standards.
  • Polish and maintain tooling to a high standard, contributing to the overall efficiency and precision of production processes.
  • Fabricate custom components as required, utilizing your machining skills and knowledge.
  • Conduct phase testing at specified intervals, adhering to strict quality control protocols.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains.
Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience as a Toolroom Technician or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of H&S requirements and best practices in a workshop setting.
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing principles and processes, particularly related to press tooling.
  • Proficiency in manual lathe, milling, and CNC milling operations.
  • Experience with CAM systems and CMM training is highly desirable.
  • Ability to perform surface grinding tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Strong fault-finding skills and a commitment to quality improvement within a production environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration within the team.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work, willing to take on diverse tasks and responsibilities as needed.
