Workshop Engineer Opportunity

Logisnext is seeking a skilled Workshop Engineer to join our team at our state-of-the-art facility in Walsall. As a leading manufacturer of industrial trucks, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional quality and service to our clients. Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and repair material handling equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Install aftermarket components, including electronic and hydraulic systems, to enhance equipment functionality.
  • Construct and configure components for material handling equipment to meet specific requirements.
  • Servicing and repairing various types of material handling equipment as needed.
  • Identify and execute repairs, including troubleshooting, to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Complete administrative tasks, including documentation and timesheets, accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure all work is performed according to safety protocols and completed within designated timeframes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, as well as properly handled tools.
  • Perform paint repairs, including touch-ups and respraying, to maintain equipment appearance.
  • Assist with logistics, including scheduling delivery trucks and unloading activities, as needed.
  • Conduct regular inventory assessments to ensure accurate stock levels.
  • Perform Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) of new material handling equipment to ensure quality and safety standards.
Requirements
  • A qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Proven experience in a workshop or heavy engineering environment, preferably within the materials handling sector.
  • Strong diagnostic skills with hands-on experience of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems will be advantageous.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively.
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations and standards.
  • A valid UK driving licence is preferred.
  • Ability to fabricate and modify components if required.
