Workshop Engineer Job Description

Logisnext is seeking a skilled Workshop Engineer to join our team at our state-of-the-art facility in Walsall. As a leading manufacturer of industrial trucks, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional quality and service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • To assess and repair material handling equipment, ensuring it meets our high standards of safety and efficiency.
  • To install and configure aftermarket components, including electronic and hydraulic systems, as needed.
  • To construct and modify components for material handling equipment, utilizing mechanical and electrical skills.
  • To diagnose and troubleshoot issues with equipment, implementing solutions to minimize downtime.
  • To maintain accurate records and documentation, including reports and timesheets.
  • To adhere to safety protocols and complete tasks within designated timeframes.
  • To maintain a clean and organized workspace, handling tools and equipment with care.
  • To perform paint repairs, including touch-ups and respraying, requiring a solid understanding of painting techniques.
  • To assist with logistics, including scheduling delivery trucks and unloading activities.
  • To conduct regular inventory assessments and participate in ad-hoc projects as required.
Requirements
  • A qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering is desirable but not essential.
  • Proven experience in a workshop or heavy engineering environment, preferably within the materials handling sector.
  • Strong diagnostic skills with hands-on experience of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems will be advantageous.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively.
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations and standards.
  • A valid UK driving licence is preferred.
  • Ability to fabricate and modify components if required.
