This pivotal role within the Digital Risk and Security division is essential for driving a comprehensive Security Assurance initiative. Working closely with the Head of Security Assurance, Security Risk and Assurance Manager, Security Architects, and other stakeholders, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of digital systems and service releases.
The Senior Information and Cyber Security Officer will be instrumental in maintaining a robust cyber security framework that aligns with the organization's risk tolerance, possessing a proven track record in developing an Information Security Management System in a dynamic environment.
The Digital Risk and Security team is tasked with formulating and executing strategic approaches to manage security risks while overseeing operational cyber security, physical security, and personnel security functions.
The division is divided into two primary sectors: Security Operations and Security Assurance. The Security Operations teams focus on cyber operations, cloud security engineering, protective monitoring, and physical security. Meanwhile, the Security Assurance teams handle security risk management, compliance oversight, and security architecture.

DDaT Pay Supplement
This position includes a £5000 Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) pay supplement following a qualifying period. This supplement is backdated to the start date in the role and is subject to regular review.
Hybrid Working

Responsibilities
• Spearhead the development and execution of security strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
• Supervise teams conducting vulnerability assessments and risk evaluations, including business impact analyses on complex information systems.
• Formulate and advise on information security policies, standards, and guidelines.
• Apply information assurance and security policies to effectively manage risks.
• Provide guidance on the adoption of information assurance architectures and strategies.
• Utilize control testing data to support assurance evaluations.
• Conduct threat identification and risk management activities.
• Design, procure, and implement security initiatives.
• Oversee third-party assessments and conduct internal/external security evaluations.
• Lead security awareness initiatives and provide consultancy on various projects.
• Establish and enforce information security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Enhance and support the Information Security Management System (ISMS).
• Respond to security incidents effectively.
• Mentor and lead a small team of security professionals.
