This role is a full-time, fixed-term position, involving collaboration with various healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities

The Fetal Cardiac Nurse Consultant will provide support to families during pregnancy, starting from the antenatal diagnosis of congenital heart disease through to the transition to Pediatric Cardiology services after birth. This position requires close cooperation with local healthcare providers, obstetric and neonatal services, as well as specialized centers.

This role encompasses the Lifelong Network, assisting women and families engaged with the fetal cardiology teams.

There are significant opportunities for involvement in service enhancement, educational initiatives at both local and national levels, as well as participation in audits and research. Experience in these areas is advantageous.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate kindness and empathy, possess excellent communication skills, be a collaborative team member, exhibit critical thinking abilities, manage multiple tasks effectively, and be proficient in basic computer applications such as Windows, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential

  • Post-registration qualification in a relevant specialty (Specialist Congenital Heart Disease Course)
  • Advanced clinical, managerial, and leadership capabilities in the specialty
  • Proven listening and counseling skills, with the ability to navigate complex situations and deliver sensitive outcomes effectively
  • Experience in conducting audits and research
  • Ability to successfully manage and evaluate personal projects

Desirable

  • Master's level education
  • Teaching and assessing qualifications or equivalent
  • Participation in research and audit initiatives

Experience

  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills with autonomous practice
