Position Overview:
This position may involve collaboration with the Obstetric team in consultant-led Antenatal clinics and the Day Assessment Unit. The role demands quick decision-making, independent practice, and medical support when in-depth knowledge of various antenatal complications and essential midwifery assessment skills in Triage are required.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive midwifery care to women and newborns during the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal phases. Care will be delivered in various settings, including hospitals, birth centers, and community environments, with responsibilities including the management of individual caseloads and ward areas.
This role is multifaceted and requires the candidate to integrate and fulfill all specified dimensions of midwifery practice.
Qualifications:
- Current NMC registration as a Midwife.
- Understanding of contemporary evidence-based midwifery practices.
- Proficiency in fetal monitoring techniques.
- Knowledge of effective management strategies for obstetric emergencies.
- In-depth understanding of medication management.
- Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with patients and colleagues across various levels and disciplines, adapting communication styles as necessary.
