Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced pharmacist to lead our Pharmacy Directorate Team in Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Pharmacy Directorate Team, ensuring the effective planning, development, and delivery of the team's plan for designated strategic areas.
  • Pharmacy Development: Guide future developments in pharmacy, medicines, prescribing, and related fields at the planning and implementation stages, ensuring alignment with the ICB's goals and objectives.
  • Collaboration and Partnership: Work collaboratively with the Pharmacy Directorate Team, ICB, and ICS teams to provide a coordinated approach to lead on agreed projects, promoting a seamless delivery of services.
  • Support and Deputation: Support the Chief Pharmacy Officer, Associate/Assistant Directors of Pharmacy in their strategic role, and deputise where required, ensuring continuity and effective decision-making.
  • Meeting Management: Lead the development and management of key Pharmacy Directorate Team meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team members.
  • Prescribing Behaviour: Manage change in prescribing behaviour through audit, prescribing, and specialist advice, promoting quality and cost-effective prescribing across the ICB and ICS.
  • Long-term Condition Expertise: Provide pharmaceutical and medicines expertise and support to wider ICB and ICS programmes, specifically in long-term condition areas.
  • Decision-making and Planning: Guide future developments in prescribing, pharmacy, and related fields at the decision-making, planning, and implementation stages, ensuring alignment with the ICB's goals and objectives.
