About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Pharmacy Director to join our team at the NHS Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of pharmacy services in our region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Place-Based Functions: You will lead the development and delivery of pharmacy services across our designated geographical areas, working closely with other pharmacy leaders and stakeholders.
  • Support Medical Directorate: You will work closely with the Medical Directorate to deliver high-quality, safe, and effective care across our care pathways, while promoting population health management, prevention, and reducing health inequalities.
  • Lead Pharmacy Directorate Team: You will lead the effective planning, development, and delivery of the Pharmacy Directorate Team plan, ensuring its delivery for designated strategic areas.
  • Guide Future Developments: You will guide future developments in pharmacy, medicines, prescribing, and related fields at the planning and implementation stages, considering a range of options and their implications.
  • Collaborate with ICB and ICS Teams: You will work collaboratively with the Pharmacy Directorate Team, ICB, and ICS teams to provide a coordinated approach to lead on agreed projects for the benefit of the ICB and ICS.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: You will have a pharmacy degree and significant experience of working in a senior leadership role in a specialist area, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality services.
  • Leadership and Management: You will have excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to work without supervision, providing specialist advice to the organization, and working to tight and often changing timescales.
  • Communication and Collaboration: You will have excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including clinicians, pharmacists, technicians, and ICB and ICS teams.
