Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our team at Resourcery Group. As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a key role in assisting the Financial Controller with a broad range of responsibilities, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze variances between actual and budgeted figures and report findings to senior management.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Financial Monitoring: Monitor budgets and expenditures to ensure alignment with financial targets.
  • Accruals and Reconciliations: Manage accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations during month-end processes.
  • Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Internal and External Audits: Assist with the preparation of documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Support accounts payable and receivable functions by processing invoices and payments.
  • Employee Expense Claims: Review and process employee expense claims.
  • Ad Hoc Reports: Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysis for senior management.

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualification: Ideally working towards CIMA/ACCA Qualification
  • Experience: Prior experience working within a finance department, ideally with exposure to month-end accounting
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Work Ethic: Hard working and 'can do' attitude
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a changing environment
