Position Overview
ERT, Inc is in search of talented professionals to contribute to the Center for Satellite Applications and Research (STAR). We have a variety of roles available that cater to different levels of education and experience. Our mission focuses on the system and software engineering aspects of developing calibration tools and interfaces for satellite sensor payloads and their corresponding data products. Key responsibilities include:
- Engaging in system design engineering for the JPSS/GOES-R series and other Sensor Data Records (SDR).
- Delivering system engineering expertise for systems that generate products derived from satellite data.
- Assisting the government in formulating system architectures and interfaces.
- Facilitating the transition of research into operational processes and establishing necessary validation and training protocols.
- Collaborating with international partners to monitor the quality of instruments and data products.
- Integrating relevant code for instrument calibration and validation tasks.
- Creating and sustaining calibration tools and software, ensuring thorough documentation.
- Supporting the operational calibration of instruments and SDR/L1b products.
- Conducting research and generating calibration datasets to uphold product quality.
- Working within Cloud and On-Premises environments, including applications related to AI/ML.
- Proposing system design concepts and confirming integration with established requirements.
- Investigating AI/ML applications to enhance satellite products and services.
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of software engineering experience focused on satellite applications.
- Proven experience in instrument calibration and validation processes.
- Familiarity with cloud computing technologies and AI/ML methodologies.
Educational Background
A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, atmospheric science, physical science, computer science, or a related field is required.
