About the Role:

The Senior Racing Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all commercial and operational aspects of the venue, including racing and events. This role requires a strategic thinker who can deliver the best possible horse racing venue and program of racing, while maximizing profits and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive business strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the venue, including racing, events, and customer service.
  • Financial Management: Manage the venue's finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of staff, including the Clerk of the Course, to ensure the successful delivery of racing and events.
  • Customer Service: Foster a culture of customer excellence, ensuring that all customers receive a high-quality experience.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including horsemen, owners, sponsors, bookmakers, media, and industry organizations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all racing industry regulations are implemented and maintained.
  • Innovation: Identify opportunities for innovation and implement strategies to stay ahead of the competition.

Requirements:

  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in a leadership role, with a track record of delivering results.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the horse racing industry, including racing regulations and best practices.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen, with the ability to develop and implement business strategies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
