Job Title: Individual Support Teaching Assistant

Location: Bartley Green, Birmingham

Compensation: £84 - £90 per day based on experience

Position Overview:
Senploy is seeking to recruit two dedicated Individual Support Teaching Assistants to provide tailored support within educational settings in Bartley Green, Birmingham. The successful candidates will possess prior experience working one-on-one with students aged 11-16, fostering positive relationships with students, educators, and families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist one student throughout the school day, providing academic, physical, and emotional support as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCO) and classroom teachers to create a conducive learning environment.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people in your care.
  • Set high expectations to encourage self-esteem and independence, offering constructive feedback on progress and achievements under the teacher's guidance.
  • Develop professional and supportive relationships with students, ensuring they feel secure and engaged in their learning.
  • Contribute to the planning, evaluation, and assessment of activities, documenting and reporting on student progress.
  • Conduct risk assessments for activities and complete necessary regulatory documentation.
  • Maintain awareness of Ofsted standards and the latest developments in special education.
  • Adhere to established guidelines, policies, and teacher instructions.
  • Follow the staff code of conduct as outlined by the organization.

Essential Qualifications/Experience:
  • GCSE qualifications in literacy and numeracy, or equivalent.
  • Certification or diploma in Childcare and Education or a relevant teaching assistant qualification.
  • Understanding of TEACCH principles.
  • Experience working with young children.
  • Experience supporting individuals with severe learning difficulties or challenging behaviors.
  • Knowledge of OFSTED regulations.
  • Understanding of child development principles.
