About the Department of Applied Computer Games
The Department of Applied Computer Games is a dynamic and vibrant academic community with a strong track record in applied research, innovative teaching, and knowledge transfer activities. We have 17 academic staff and approximately 500 students enrolled in our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Job Summary
We are seeking a Lecturer in Games Software Development to play a leading role in the delivery and management of selected Applied Computer Games programmes. The successful candidate will teach core software development topics, supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research theses, and contribute to the growth and development of our teaching, research, consultancy, and knowledge transfer activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach core software development topics such as C#, C++, Artificial Intelligence, OpenGL, Unity, and Unreal Engine
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research theses
- Contribute to the growth and development of our teaching, research, consultancy, and knowledge transfer activities
- Expand our external collaboration networks for both research and teaching
- Contribute to new and enhanced curricula and taught provision in areas relevant to Applied Computer Games
Requirements
- Education to at least master's level, or a bachelor's degree level with a minimum of 3 years' relevant industry experience
- Evidence of a research record and successful grants applications
- Experience in relevant industry sectors
