Role Overview: In the realm of construction, your responsibilities will encompass procurement of materials, overseeing substantial projects, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining exceptional customer service. Our operations span approximately 400 developments across various settings, each presenting distinct challenges, from new builds on previously developed land to the renovation of existing structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee site development in alignment with established specifications, timelines, and completion targets set by the Divisional Board, ensuring adherence to best practices and effective cost management to enhance revenue generation.
- Promote exemplary customer service within the division by implementing company policies and addressing unresolved customer issues.
- Collaborate with the Managing Director to determine construction direction and logistics, while producing and monitoring build schedules in conjunction with Construction and Contracts Managers.
- Engage with the Sales Director to maintain an updated understanding of sales targets, ensuring the build schedule maximizes revenue opportunities.
- Work alongside the Commercial Director to select appropriate subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring the necessary resources and expertise are available to meet quality standards within set timelines.
- Adhere to the company's Health and Safety policies to maintain a secure working environment.
- Ensure the construction team is adequately resourced and guided, providing clear job responsibilities and support for effective communication, training, and workload management.
- Provide regular updates to the Managing Director and Divisional Board in accordance with established reporting formats.
- Uphold and promote the company's values, systems, policies, and procedures.
- Take charge of team development and ensure all key performance indicators are met.
- Facilitate early involvement in site planning through to project completion.
- Act as a leader and role model for the project team throughout each development.
Qualifications and Skills:
To excel in this position, candidates should possess:
- A proven history in a comparable role or at the level of Construction or Contracts Manager.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the construction industry, including relevant legislative requirements such as Health and Safety, NHBC standards, and Building Regulations.
- Experience in budget management and cost control, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work effectively.
- Confidence, decisiveness, and resilience, thriving in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Innovative thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- A strong focus on team leadership, coaching, and development to help the construction team reach their full potential.
- Extensive experience in customer care and satisfaction management.
